Killer Sausage Roll Recipe!

Who doesn't love a flaky, savory sausage roll? This is no store-bought stuff; we're talking top-tier, homemade, gotta-have-another-one-even-though-you're-full sausage rolls! You'll surprise yourself with how simple yet delicious they are. Perfect for a family gathering, game day, or honestly, just a Tuesday. Let's roll up our sleeves and dive in!

Ingredients

  • 750 g sausage mince
  • 1/2 onion finely chopped
  • Caramelized Onion
  • 2 garlic cloves finely chopped
  • 65 g breadcrumbs
  • 3 tbsp parsley chopped
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 semi-thawed puff pastry sheets

Method
 

  1. Preparation: Preheat oven to 220C and line two baking trays with baking paper.
  2. Mince Mixture: Combine mince, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, parsley, salt, and pepper. Beat 1 egg and blend it in.
  3. Assemble: Cut each pastry sheet in half. Roll a portion of the mince mixture until it's 25 cm long and place it down the center of the pastry. Brush edges with a beaten egg.
  4. Roll & Cut: Roll up the pastry to enclose the filling, cut into 5 pieces, and place seam side down on the tray.
  5. Bake: Brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with pepper, and bake for 20 mins. Then reduce heat to 200C and bake for another 10 mins until golden.
