Notes
- Choose a Ripe Watermelon: A ripe, juicy watermelon will absorb the vodka better and give you the sweetest, most delicious result.
- Inject for Quicker Infusion: For a faster and more even infusion, you can use a meat injector to inject the vodka into multiple spots on the watermelon instead of using the bottle method.
- Make It a Cooler: You can also scoop out the infused watermelon flesh, blend it with a little soda water, and serve it as a boozy watermelon slushie.
- Is this a very strong treat? Yes. The watermelon absorbs a significant amount of the vodka, so each slice or cube can be quite potent. It should be enjoyed responsibly, as its sweet flavor can be deceiving.
- Can I use a different liquor? Yes, you can. White rum or tequila are also excellent choices for infusing watermelon, and they will give the fruit a different flavor profile.
