Duck Fart Shot
Ingredients
- 1/4 oz Coffee Liqueur
- 1/4 oz Irish Cream
- 1/4 oz Canadian Whisky
Instructions
- Start with a clean shot glass to ensure the layers remain distinct.
- Carefully pour the coffee liqueur into the bottom of the shot glass. This forms the first layer and provides a rich, sweet base.
- Slowly layer the Irish cream over the back of a bar spoon to float it above the coffee liqueur. The density of Irish cream allows it to sit nicely on top of the denser liqueur below.
- Finally, layer the Canadian whisky on top using the same method. The whisky will float on top of the Irish cream, completing the three-tiered effect.
- Serve the shot immediately after layering to enjoy the visual appeal and distinct flavors of each layer as you drink.

Notes
- Master the Layering: The key to this drink is the layering. The back-of-a-spoon method is essential for a clean, professional-looking shot. Make sure to pour very slowly and use a cold Irish cream.
- Customize Your Whiskey: While Crown Royal is the classic choice, you can use any smooth Canadian whisky. Some variations even use spiced rum for an added kick.
- Make It a Cocktail: For a full-sized drink, you can build the shot ingredients over ice in a glass and stir.
- Is this a very strong shot? The Duck Fart is a relatively mild shot. It contains about one ounce of liquor, and the creamy, coffee flavors make it a delicious, easy-to-drink dessert shot.
- What does a Duck Fart Shot taste like? It's a smooth, sweet, and creamy shot with rich flavors of coffee, vanilla, and caramel. The whiskey on top adds a subtle kick that balances the sweetness of the liqueurs.
